GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has thanked all the citizens of the twin cities, members of Ganesh Utsav Committees and officials and staff of various departments for the successful conduct of Ganesh festival in the city.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the Mayor appreciated the coordination among various departments which ensured the successful conduct of Ganesh immersion procession.
GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said that despite heavy rains, both the Bakrid and Ganesh festivals were celebrated without any untoward incident.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy praised the role played by policemen and members of the Ganesh Utsav Committees in making the immersion programme a grand success. He said that the Police Department had installed around 12,000 CC TV cameras which helped in ensuring incident free celebrations. He said that the Police Department was also planning to install some more CCTV cameras in the near future for the safety of the citizens. This year the Police department had deployed 25,000 police force including 10,000 police personnel from other States.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin appreciated the role played by all the officials of various departments. (INN)
