GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain has directed the Additional Commissioner (Admin.) to write a letter for vigilance enquiry against the Urban Community Development activities in Circles 4,5 and 7.
The Mayor held a review meeting on Action Taken on Standing Committee -4 (09.06.2013 to 06.11.2013) resolutions along with Standing Committee Members today. During the meeting it has been apprised by the several members that the Community Organisers (COs) in UCD wing have become more political, reluctant to get transferred from the place of working and lots of allegations arose regarding distribution of loans. The Mayor directed to conduct vigilance enquiry on trainings that are being conducted and distribution of loans. He further directed Additional Commissioner (UCD) to submit a detailed note about the training centres, Deepam connections, loans including the names of the group members to next Standing Committee.
Majid Hussain directed the Additional Commissioner (Planning) to set up a special team of Assistant City Planner and Section Officers for a period of 3 months to look after road widening work in South Zone and to clear land compensation cheques at the earliest. He was briefed that there are about 1425 undistributed cheques of compensation towards land acquisition for road widening and encroachments removal on nalas because of various reasons.
The Mayor has instructed the Additional Commissioner (Estates), Additional Commissioner (Sports) and Additional Commissioner (UCD) to sit together and finalise the list of Community halls and play grounds which are under their respective control and submit the same to the Standing Committee in order to strengthen the Community halls for better utility of the citizens.
There are 164 resolutions that were taken between 9th June 2013 to 6th November 2013 out of which 150 resolutions were attended and 14 are pending. (INN)
