Mayawati lauds party’s good showing outside UP

Lucknow, December 18: Welcoming the party’s showing in municipal and local bodies elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP president Mayawati today said it was indicative of party’s growing support base outside the state.

In a release issued here, Mayawati here said her party’s support base in the urban areas in Madhya Pradesh as also Rajasthan was on the rise and it has emerged as a strong political force after these elections.

“It is for the first time that BSP has won mayor’s election in major cities like Satna and Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh while bagging nine and eleven seats of corporators respectively,” she said adding in Rajasthan the party bagged the chairman’s post in Rajgarh district board.

In Madhya Pradesh, party won 151 corporators posts while it also made its presence felt in Rajasthan, she said.
