Mayavati sends emissaries to Hyderabad

Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayavathi has sent two representatives to Hyderabad on behalf of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to elicit facts behind the suicide of Dalit research scholar Vemula Rohit of Central University.

“Virasam” leader V Vara Vara Rao also visited the Central University on Tuesday and alleged that the governments were adopting suppressive policies towards the students. He demanded that the government punish all those caused suicide of Rohit severely. He also sought impartial inquiry into the suppressive policies adopting by the Universities and punish the culprits severely.

On the other hand, Central University students staged a protest in front of the Two-member Committee appointed by the Union government to go into Rohit’s suicide. They demanded that the committee immediately remove Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao from his post. (NSS)
