May get back passport in a week

Hyderabad, April 12: Shoaib Malik is likely to get back his passport in a week.

With his estranged wife, Ayesha Siddiqui, withdrawing the police complaint against the former Pakistani cricketer, police said it would be easier for the latter to get back his passport.

“The passport is currently deposited in a court by the police. Shoaib Malik has to file a petition to get back his passport,’’ Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) K Narasimha Reddy said.

It may take one week for him to get back his passport, he added.

Narasimha Reddy said they have received the withdrawal petition from Ayesha Siddiqui and it would be submitted before the court soon.

The case would be then referred to the Lok Adalat and the duo have to settle the issue there.

On the reports of Shoaib Malik giving a `false’ name of his father in the `talaknama,’ Narasimha Reddy said his father had an alias name in the passport also and it would not pose any problem.
