Workers and laborers celebrated May Day on grand note in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States on Friday. In Hyderabad, May Day celebrations were held at MB Bhavan. CPM Telangana State Council secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram, CPM Politburo member B V Raghavulu participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Thammineni said May Day is a noble day celebrating the day remembering the sacrifices of the labor, who fought for eight working hours per day. “But there was no change even today in working hours’ duration and cruel behavior of owners”, he said, adding there was no action against the atrocities of the owners except false promises. The present situation seems that the achieved rights and laws would be water downed and the future looks very dangerous.
Raghavulu said the Narendra Modi government is ridiculing the rights of workers, who achieved them by fighting for decades. He alleged that both at the Centre and State, the governments’ attitude was becoming monarchic. The governments’ policies were making dalits, labor and minority sections suffer loss.
In Warangal, workers and laborer decorated the City with red flags and hoisted them at main centers. The local CPM leaders hoisted flag at CPM office and raised slogans ‘Labors movement Zindabad’.
