Institute of Objective Studies (IOS), New Delhi conferred Maulana Syed Mustafa Rifai Jeelani Nadwi with Shah Waliuallah Award for his scholarly contributions in the field of Islamic Sufism here at Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad on August 23.
Moulana Rifai is the 10th person who received the prestigious award. The award also included Rs one lakh. The other recipients of the award are: Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi, Qazi Mujahidul Islam Qasmi, Prof. Nejatullah Siddiqui, Maulana Shahabuddin Nadvi, Prof. Yasin Mazhar Siddiqui, Dr. Tahir Mahmood, Prof. Faizan Mustafa and Dr. Afroz Alam.
IOS instituted the award in 1999 to commemorate the outstanding services of Shah Waliullah; to promote the Islamic values and to honour eminent Muslim scholars who have done outstanding work in various fields.Courtesy:Karnataka Muslims
