Lucknow: Maulana Salman Nadwi has disassociated himself from Ayodhya dispute, one day after meeting with the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has been mediating in the matter. The two had met on Thursday in Lucknow, where Sri Sri had termed Muslim community to be ‘co-operative’ in resolving the conflict peacefully.
“I disassociate myself from the Ram Mandir issue. We will wait for the judgement of the court,” Nadvi told ANI on Friday. All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had removed Maulana Nadwi from its board for suggesting an out-of-court settlement in the conflict.
After meeting with the Muslim cleric, Sri Sri had said that the two had spoken about harmonious co-existence of both communities and construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The case of Ram Janmbhoomi and Babri Masjid is an ongoing issue and has been pending before the Supreme Court. The next hearing of the case now to be heard on March 14.
