Hyderabad: Funeral prayers of Maulana Mohammed Naseeruddin was performed at Sayeedabad Ujale-Shah Eid Gah grounds and the burial (Tadfeen) was carried out at the abutting graveyard.
Scores of public and his followers joined the funeral prayers and two of his sons Muqeemuddin Yasir and Baleeghuddin Jaber have led the funeral.The police have made elaborate arrangements in the area.
Bosch pump mechanic by profession, 70 year old Maulana Naseeruddin was an active member of Jamaat-E-Islami and after quitting the organization he formed Tahreek-Tahafuz-E-Shuayar-E-Islam (TTSI). He is also one of the founder of Islamic institution (Madrassa) Jamiat-ul-Banaat in Saidabad.
Naseeruddin was allegedly involved in six cases. In 1993 Naseeruddin was first arrested under TADA for offering prayers at Abids circle roads protesting against the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992. In 1998 he was arrested by the Special investigation team (SIT) for allegedly aiding one Pakistani national Saleem Junaid to take shelter in Hyderabad, the Pakistani convicted for smuggling RDX in Hyderabad and later deported
On 31st October 2004, Moulana Naseeruddin was arrested by a team of Gujarat police headed by Narendra Kumar Amin under POTA, in connection with the criminal conspiracy to kill former Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya.
During the arrest operation near DGP office at Lakdikapul, Ahmedabad crime branch had shot down his follower Mujahid Salim Azmi. However he was acquitted by Special POTA court at Ahmedabad, later was implicated in the alleged attack on a police team near DGP’s office.
In the year 2004, Naseeruddin was booked for allegedly hatching a criminal conspiracy to blast Siddhi Vinayak Ganesh Temple Secunderabad and the case is under trial at Nampally metropolitan courts.
