Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana has decided to celebrate Maulana Azad’s birthday falling on 11th November as “Minorities Welfare Day”. It has decided to celebrate this function in all the districts of Telangana on a large scale. Mr. A.K. Khan, IPS, DGP of ACB held a meeting with the officials of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare attended the meeting and presented various suggestions for celebrating this day on a grand scale. It is reported that Govt. has decided to include a few more programs this time. It has decided to include Urdu Academy, Minorities Finance Corporation, Hajj Committee and other Departments. Minorities Residential Schools will also be included in this program.
It may be mentioned that Govt. started 71 schools for Minorities. There is a proposal to start 89 residential schools for Minorities next year.
