Maulana Azad Day celebration in Urdu University

Hyderabad, November 11: Maulana Azad National Urdu University is organizing four day programmes to commemorate 123rd birthday of the first education minister of independent India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The celebrations are arranged from 11th November to 15th November 2011. Urdu University is organizing these programmes on the special instructions from its Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammed Miyan, as part of National Education Day in order to pay tribute the great educationist Maulana Azad.

Prof. Khalid Sayeed is the coordinator and Prof. Mohammed Zafaruddin is the convener of organizing committee. On Friday, 11th November, inaugural function of the celebrations will be held at the auditorium of Distance Education.

Mr. P. Shiv Shanker, former Union Minister for HRD will be the Chief Guest. Prof. Mohammed Miyan, V.C. of Urdu University will preside over the function.

A book exhibition is arranged in the Central Library. The portrait of Maulana Azad prepared by Artist Aziz will be unveiled by Prof. Mohammed Miyan today Dept. of Education will arrange a quiz programme at 2:30 PM today.

The Dept of Persian is organizing a symposium on “Imprints of Persian in the writing of Maulana Azad” which will be presided over by the renowed scholar Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Shakaib (London). Prof. Chandrasekhar will be the Chief Guest.

Dr. Aziz Bano, HOD of Persian is the convener. A gathering on humour Poets is arranged at 6:30 PM today. Interested persons are invited to these programmes.
