Maulana Azad celebrations in Urdu University

Maulana Azad National Urdu University has drawn a four-day programme for Maulana Azad’s Birthday celebrations. Govt. of India has declared it as “National Education Day”. The main purpose of organizing these celebrations is to make the younger generation aware of the life and deeds of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

A symposium on “ Maulana Azad’s translation with reference to Tarjumanul Quran” will be held at 11 a.m. on 8th November. A lecture on “ Maulana Azad’s contribution to the development of Arabic Language” will be delivered at 3 p.m. in Library Auditorium. Students will present a cultural programme at 6 p.m. in the open-air auditorium.

A discussion on “ The role of MANNU in the empowerment of women in backward areas” is arranged at 10:30 a.m. on 9th November at Library Auditorium. A documentary on Maulana Azad will be screened at 3 p.m. at CPDUMT auditorium on the same day. Elocution competitions will be held at 3 p.m. at DDE Auditorium.

On 10th November at 11 a.m. a seminar on “ Persian Elements in Maulana Azad’s Writings” will be held at Library Auditorium. Another symposium on “ Maulana Azad’s Vision of India and Minority” will be held at CPDUMT Auditorium at the same time. Students’ Cultural programme will be held in DDE Auditorium simultaneously.

Painting competition for school students will be organized in DDE Auditorium on the same day. A symposium will be organized by the Dept. of Hindi at 3 p.m. in the Library Auditorium.

A painting competition for the students of MANNU will be held in the Dept of English of Urdu University on the same day.

On the last day of the celebrations, “Maulana Azad Day lecture” and Valedictory Function will be held on 11th November.
