For the first time in India a program was held to tie wedlock to the hearing impaired and blind Muslim boys and girls. The program was organized by Islamic Center at Lakad Kote, Chattabazar, Hyderabad yesterday. A large number of parents and guardians of physically challenged boys and girls was present on this occasion. Many matrimonial alliance were finalized on the spot.
Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily attended the function as the Chief Guest. He arranged this program through Minorities Development Forum of Siasat taking in view the demands of the present day. He hoped that this program will be popularized country wide. He informed that for this program, a handicapped girl from Vishakhapatnam has sent an email. She expressed that she could not attend the program since she didn’t have money for railway ticket. In the same manner another deaf boy who passed BE examination sent his bio-data for matrimonial alliance.
Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan impressed upon the need for the Muslims to make use of various welfare scheme formulated by the Govt. They should not get disappointed with the injustices meted out to them by the Govt.
Dr. Mohammed Khalid Mubashiruzzafar, Director IICD and Amir of Jamat-e-Islami of Greater Hyderabad, in his presidential speech told that a marriage bureau will be established to offer services to the handicapped persons where they will have the facility of registration for matrimonial alliances. He further told that in the present day context it has become inevitable to get information. Muslims should make use of communication technology and the new electronic resources. He applauded the efforts of Siasat Urdu Daily and Minorities Development Forum and said that it is the greatest service which they are offering. He prayed to Allah (SWT) to give them the best reward.
Mr. Mohammed Khaiser, President of “Hum Hindustani” organization of Riyadh (KSA) told that Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) Matrimonial alliances program is a healthy source of the society to arrange marriages. By arranging matrimonial alliances for the physically handicapped persons, the inferiority complex and the feeling of being handicapped could be removed. He offered every possible help for this program. He advised IICD and MDF of Siasat to continue this mission. He also supported the movement launched by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan for not arranging dinners on the occasion of weddings. He informed that Hyderabadi NRIs in Saudi Arabia have welcomed this movement enthusiastically.
Mr. Abid Siddiqui, President of MDF told that so far 26 programs of matrimonial alliances have been conducted so far and this is 27th program. He appreciated the services of Jamat-e-Islami and IICD.
Ms. Nasera Khanum, Director of Ladies Wing of Jamat-e-Islami told that Islamic morals and good character should be inculcated among the handicapped youths. By offering good behavior, the deprivation of physical disability can be compensated. She told that Allah (SWT)has bestowed the power of language to those who have been deprived of the faculty of hearing. Muslim organizations should make their motto to offer social service to such people.
Mr. Ghulam Moinuddin welcomed the guests. Hafiz Rishaduddin, of Ideal Information Center for the destitute highlighted the activities of the Center. Mr. Khader Ali Khan, former MD of AP State Minorities Finance Corporation proposed that training programs for physically handicapped persons should also be formulated. He said that there are large number of opportunities for such people.
Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin, Vice President of Welfare Party of India told that the matrimonial life depends on piety. Mr. Syed Tabreez Bakhshi, Secretary of IICD conducted the meeting. In this program, 27 boys and 30 girls registered for matrimonial alliances.
