Massive Victory for Congress in Rajasthan by-polls, huge blow to BJP, Trinamool wins in West Bengal

Jaipur: In a huge blow to the ruling party BJP in Rajasthan, the Indian National Congress has won three seats that went for bypoll, the counting for which was done on February 1st.

The three seats include the assembly seat Mandalgarh Assembly seat and Parliamentary seats of Ajmer and Alwar. In all the three seats, Congress has given a massive defeat to the BJP.

In Mandalgarh, Congress candidate Vivek Dhakad defeated the BJP candidate Shakti Singh Hada by securing 70,146 votes. The BJP candidate secured 57,170 votes and defeated by a margin of 12,976 votes.

In Alwar and Ajmer parliamentary constituencies also, the Congress party won with huge majority.

In Alwar constituency, the Congress party candidate Dr. Karan Singh Yadav secured 642416 votes, while the BJP candidate Dr. Jaswant Singh Yadav got 445920 votes. The margin of victory was 1.98 lakh votes and the congress party wrested the seat from BJP which in 2014 had won here by 2.83 lakh votes.

 

 

In Ajmer also, the congress party candidate Raghu Sharma got 611514 votes, while the BJP candidate Ramswaroop Lamba got 527100 votes. Here too, the congress party secured the seat with a margin of 84414 votes.

 

 

 

The percentage of votes polled for Congress candidate in Ajmer was 50.98 %, on the other hand the percentage of votes polled for BJP candidate was 43.94 %.

In Alwar, the percentage of votes polled for the Congress candidate Dr. Karan Singh Yadav was 57.73 %, whereas the percentage of votes polled for BJP candidate Dr. Jaswant Singh Yadav was 40.07 %.

The Rajasthan Congress party chief Sachin Pilot said that “It is emphatic victory that people have registered for Congress. I am thankful to the people of Rajasthan. Beyond Rajasthan also, these election results will have an impact as Jumlebaazi, politics of division and venom isn’t acceptable.” He further added that “After failing to appease voters over religion, the BJP tried polarising them over caste…It is a victory of people, party workers and all leaders.”

In his tweet Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi also congratulated party workers and thanked people of Rajasthan for supporting his party.

In West Bengal, the election for Noapara Assembly constituency and Uluberia parliamentary constituency was held. In both the seats, the trinamool congress rided with victory and the BJP secured second position.

In Noapara Assembly constituency, the Trinamool Congress bagged 1,01,729 votes, whereas the BJP got 38,711 votes.

In Uluberia parliamentary constituency, the Trinamool Congress won with 7,67,219 votes and the BJP got 2,93,018 votes.
