Govt of Telangana is planning for a massive land survey in the month of February in all the districts of the State and every inch of land will be computerized.
Deputy Chief Minister and revenue minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali informed to the media that the land survey will be launched in February. The Union Government has granted 139 crores for the survey, while 85 crores have been already released. The complete land survey will be taken up at an estimated cost of 600 crore.
“New buildings would be constructed for stamps and registration department, beginning with four buildings in Hyderabad and 23 buildings in Ranga Reddy district,” Mahmood Ali said.
This is to be noted that Mr. Mahmood Ali recently agreed to the proposal submitted by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan for the protection of Wakf land.
Mr. Mahmood Ali further said that there are 77000 acres of Wakf land available in Telangana State and yet the Muslims are educationally backward. If these lands were developed the status of Muslims, they would not have been so backward.
He promised that the Govt. will consult Ulemas before taking any decision about the possessions of the Muslims on Wakf lands.
Govt. has a proposal to make such occupants tenants by taking appropriate amounts. In this way, the income of Wakf Board could increase up to Rs. 500 crore. If Revenue Department cooperates, Wakf lands could be protected in a better way.
The Telangana-government is hopeful that the survey will help in identifying the availability of land and further for the schemes like distribution of land to the poor.
