Goods worth millions were reduced to ash after a massive fire broke out at a tyre factory in West Bengal in the wee hours of Wednesday.
No casualty was reported in the incident. Around seven fire engines rushed to the factory and doused off the flames after toiling for hours.
The owner of the factory, Sudip Ghorui, said that crackers caused the fire.
“The fire was caused due to crackers and all the scrap material caught fire,” said Ghorui, adding, “I have suffered a huge loss in the fire.”
Ghorui added that he suffered a loss of rupees fifty to rupees 60 sixty in the blaze.
India is celebrating Diwali, bursting of firecrackers has remained a significant tradition of the festival. Many times these crackers enter houses or factories and cause damage. (ANI)
