On Wednesday, a native of Prakasam district was arrested for murdering a minor girl.
According to Kandukur police, the accused D Venkateswarlu was working as a mason in Hyderabad and was residing at Vanasthalipuram. He lured his neighbor, K Sirisha (15), by promising to marry her and eloped with her on January 4 to Manchalapalli village, of Rangareddy dis-trict.
According to Vanasthalipuram Sub-Inspector, Veeraswamy Goud, the duo stayed there for three days and went to Malakonda village, of Valetivaripalem mandal. There Sirisha demanded him to marry her and had a quarrel.
Annoyed Venkateswarlu killed Sirisha, by strangling her with a scarf. He hushes up the matter by hiding the dead body of Sirisha in the bushes and fled to Bangalore.
Parents of Sirisha have expressed suspicion on Venkateswarlu therefore police have started a search to nab and arrested him.
