On Thursday, four masked men allegedly tried to rape a woman farmer at Gudupalli village in the mandal under Chirakpalli police limits. The incident took place as she was in the direction to her field as usual.
The four swooped on the victim before dragging her to an adjoining field. She raised an distress signa,l drawing the attention of others working in their fields.
The other workers reached the spot, forcing the four to escape. She was found unconscious. Villagers give a buzz to the police, who hurried to the village and sent her to the government hospital here. Investigation is on.
