Masked criminals loot gold packets and cash from bank

A group of masked criminals allegedly looted 688 packets of gold jewellery worth Rs 5 crore and Rs 12,800 cash from the Odisha Gramya Bank’s Darpanarayanpur branch in Nayagarh district, police said.

The manager and cashier of the bank were injured in the incident, sources said.

The masked assailants, four in number, held the bank employees hostage and decamped with the packets at gunpoint, police said, adding a search is on to nab the criminals.
