Masjid uninhabited at Koh-e-Tur, Falaknuma

Falaknuma hillock which was named by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah as ‘Koh-e-Tur’. Nawab Iqbaluddaula Bahadur who was Ameer of Paigahi began construction of a grand palace at the Koh-e-Tur hillock in 1884. The palace was completed in 8 years.

A masjid was also constructed adjacent to the palace. The masjid is located at an altitude of 100 feet but the masjid is almost uninhabited as there are no steps leading to the masjid. The masjid is in very precarious condition although the masjid is under the supervision of HEH Nizam’s trust. Viqar-ul-Umra had constructed the steps but were flattened by the rain. As per the Waqf record the masjid has an area of 20800 sqft.
