Hyderabad: Telangana Waqf Board chairman, Mohammed Saleem inspected Masjid Nana Bagh, Basheerbagh. He said 5 acres and 10 guntas of land is attached to the masjid and the Waqf Board has complete record about the Masjid Nana Bagh land. Hence there is no question of giving it up. Telangana State Waqf Board has decided to issue notices to encroachers of waqf land attached to the Masjid Nana Bagh. The Board will take legal action against the encroachers and seek police intervention in immediate stoppage of ongoing construction.
It must be noted that of the 5 acres and 10 guntas land attached to the masjid, a major chunk is occupied by a hospital, school and commercial establishments.
Waqf Board Chairman told that the matter would be represented to the Director General of Police and GHMC Commissioner and their intervention will be sought, Telangana Today reported.
Claiming that protecting the waqf property and increasing the Board’s revenue is his prime object, Mr. Saleem said illegal occupants of waqf land would be asked to turn tenants or get ready to face legal action. Mr. Saleem would soon undertake tour of the entire state to take stock of waqf properties.
