Masjid Mohammadia of Uppal rehabilitated

After the uphill struggle and enthusiasm of the ardent young men of Uppal and Amberpet, the 50 year old uninhabited masjid located at the bank of Uppal Lake, has been rehabilitated.

A special report had been published in Siasat daily during the month January, in which details were presented regarding uninhabited masjids of city and outskirts along with their photos. The Siasat’s campaign bore fruits and encouraged by the publication of the reports the young men of Uppal and Amberpet undertook the task of restoring the uninhabited masjid.

Muslims from far-off places arrived at Masjid Mohammadia and offered Friday prayers. Owners of Ashok Leyland showroom which is adjacent to the masjid, provided electric connection for the convenience of mussallis, as a result loud speaker and fans could be operated.
