Masjid Miyan Mushk to get facelift

Hazrat Miyan Mushk was a devout personality during Qutub Shahi Era. He built a splendid masjid on an expanse of 5 acre 3 guntas at the foot of Puranapul. Several reports were published in Siasat regarding precarious condition of the magnificent masjid and criminal negligence of department of archaeology. The reports yielded positive result and face-lifting work has begun. The renovation work is being done by department of archaeology with the expenditure of 6 lakh rupees.

Although Siasat’s efforts to restore the lost glory of the masjid are bearing fruits, much more needs to be done by Waqf Board. The Masjid has 99 shops and 35 rooms whose rent is paltry compared to todays rising prices. Sources also say that the committee is evading showing accounts to Waqf Board.
