New Delhi: Adnan Abu Al Haija, Ambassador of Palestine urged India to interfere in the present conflict between Israel and Palestine to resolve the conflict in Jerusalem over the historic Masjid Al-Aqsa.
According to the news published in Deccan Herald, on Wednesday, he said that as India has friendly ties with Israel, it can use its influence to diffuse the fresh tension which is increasing after Israel imposed additional physical hindrance at the compound of Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Talking to media, he also said that India could play an important role in resolving the conflict between Palestine and Israel.
He mentioned that Israel for the first time since 1967 began the judaisation process. After UNESCO declared Masjid Al-Aqsa compound to be exclusively for Muslim, Israel started provocations, he added.
He further said that there is no link between Palestinian and Kashmir issue as later is an internal problem.
Talking about two-state solution, he said that Israel is against this solution and wants to exercise full control over the occupied parts of Jerusalem.
According to the report published in The Hindu, referring to the recent visit of Mr. Modi to Israel, he said that it will not affect the ties between Palestine and India.
