Marxwadi Janta Party strongly opposes the move by the current BJP government in Maharashtra to scrap the five percent reservation for Muslims in government jobs. The previous government had introduced this quota for Muslims under the category of ‘Most Backward Classes’ in June last year. According to the Sachchar Committee report, Muslims are the most backward community in the country.
