New Delhi: Automobile major Maruti Suzuki India on Sunday reported a one per cent dip in sales for December.
According to the company, its sales during the month stood at 117,908 units from 119,149 units sold in the same month last year.
For December, the company’s domestic sales were down by 4.4 per cent to 106,414 units from 111,333 units sold during the corresponding month of 2015, but exports surged by 47.1 per cent with 11,494 units shipped out — from 7, 816 units sold abroad in December last year.
Segment-wise, sales of passenger cars fell by 10.9 per cent to 81,092 units against 91,043 units sold in the corresponding month of 2015.
Besides, sales of utility vehicles increased by a whopping 75.3 per cent to 16,072 units.
On the other hand, off-take in the van segment, decreased by 17.1 per cent to 9,224 units.
