Maruti Suzuki introduces ‘MS Dhoni inspired’ Alto special edition

Hyderabad :Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Saturday launched ‘MS Dhoni inspired’ special edition of the Alto small cars.

The special editions of Alto800 and AltoK10 cars are part of the carmaker’s association with the upcoming movie ‘M S Dhoni: The Untold Story’ which is based on the life of limited over cricket skipper M S Dhoni.

The special edition cars will be available for sale at Maruti Suzuki dealerships from the first week of October 2016.

Alto’s association with the movie is based on the cricketer’s massive popularity which harmonises with the credibility of the car in India, Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) R S Kalsi said.

Dhoni, the movie star cast and Kalsi together unveiled the special editions of Alto800 and AltoK10 here.

“As iconic brands both are equally loved and recognised across languages and cultures across India. Alto is the only car brand to cumulatively sell 30 lakh units. M S Dhoni is a living legend of Indian cricket and is recognised for his dynamic leadership style in cricketing world.

“The achievements and recognitions of both MS Dhoni and Alto make them the true stars of their own leagues,” Khalsi said.

Dhoni said he is having tough time with respect to promotions of his biopic.

“My part is done. I narrated the story and I did my bit. So now everything comes to the actors. Yes, I am feeling the pressure of the promotion that is going on either we have to travel or music part.

“Over all it is journey that I have been through right from the start. So it goes to childhood period when I was in school, how I was playing football and then shifted to cricket and that middle period I was struggling,” Dhoni said.

As a part of the association, Maruti Suzuki is running a series of customer engagement activities on social media.

The special edition Alto has Dhoni inspired sporty seat covers with number “7”, MS Dhoni signature decal and body graphics, high end music system, reverse parking sensors, among others, the company said in a release.
