Unable to bear pressure from his colleague and persistent demand for sex, a 38-year-old man committed suicide in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district said Police on Monday.
The man identified as Sachin Mitkari worked in a hospital at Parbhani which is 500 km away from Mumbai committed suicide by hanging himself from his house ceiling on the Parbhabni-Vasmat road on Sunday, TS reports.
He was found hanging by his neighbours who alerted the police.
Mitkari also wrote a suicide note where he accused the woman colleague he was working with of harassing him and of insisting on having a sexual relationship with him, the Police said.
Mitkari stated in his suicide note that the woman was aware of his marital status and was still persistent on having an illicit relationship with him, refusing which, she always threatened to file a criminal case against him, the official said, quoting the note.
The Police have registered an abetment to suicide case against the accused woman and sent Mithkari’s body for post-mortem.
Further investigation in the matter was underway, the Police added.
