Married couple arrested for duping job seekers

Police today arrested a married couple who used to dupe unemployed youth on the pretext of providing them jobs.

According to the police, Rahul Shrivastav alias Ankit — the kingpin of the gang — was arrested along with his wife
Raveena today.

One of their accomplice, Vikram, is still at large.

Police action came on a complaint from Faridabad-resident Prem Shankar Tiwari that in November last year he was called by Rahul to Okhla Phase-III for an interview for a job.

The complainant said he was to a lady (identified now as Raveena) who conducted the interview. After the interview, the duo handed him an appointment letter and took Rs 10,000 from him.

Police said he was told that he would receive an email from the company asking him to submit his documents for
verification. He kept waiting for email which never arrived.

Later, Tiwari filed a complaint at Okhla police station.

Police team apprehended Rahul at Saket Mall and subsequently nabbed his wife.

Efforts are being made to arrest Vikram, police said.
