Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan said that issue of marriage of Muslim girls has taken a serious turn. Not only Muslims of India but those residing in Pakistan, Arab countries, America and UK are also confronting with the same problem. Hence the Muslim organizations and institutions of those countries wish that Du Ba Du programme is conducted there also.
Mr. Zahed Ali Khan was addressing the 35th Du Ba Du programme conducted by Siasat and MDF at S A Imperial Garden Tolichowki. Hundreds of Muslim parents and guardians attended the programme. He claimed that due to extravagance in Muslim weddings, Muslim economy is fast deteriorating and many social problems have surfaced. He urged the parents to give preference to Islamic values while selecting a match. He further said 10 to 12 dishes are served at the wedding function and lot of food go wasted; which is very unfortunate. Hosts do not come to the function hall in time and they keep the guests waiting for hours. He also condemned the menace of dowry and other demands by the groom’s family which have forced many families to borrow money on interest which is haraam in Islam.
Mr. Zahed Ali Khan urged Muslims to change their custom and simplify Nikah. He revealed that Siasat and MDF aim at bringing a healthy change in the society and put a curb on rising evils related to marriage.
