Mariam Kauser, the three-year-old, who was in a state of coma for the last three months, due to medical negligence, finally opened her eyes to the joy and relief of her relatives.
She was shifted from the ICU to a special ward at the Malathi Manipal Hospital on February 18, after slight movements in her body were noticed by her parents’ relatives. However, she is still on tracheotomy.
The Medical Director of Manipal Hospital, Dr H Sudarshan Ballal, said that, “the condition of the child is stable and she has been shifted to a special ward. Her parents have been instructed to keep a watch on her and report any changes they notice to the doctors and hospital staff immediately.
Dr. Ballal, further said, that she would be monitored by nurses and doctors, regularly, and would be discharged from the hospital with the parents’ consent.Courtesy:Karnataka Muslims
