Maria Goretti uncomfortable with Arshad’s kiss

Mumbai, July 10: Arshad Warsi has been in news for both, his personal and professional life. His marriage with Maria Gorreti was on the rocks, but the handsome couple is very much together and all is hunky dory with them. On the professional front, though his film Shortkut: The Con in On is all set to release this Friday, there’s more buzz about his steamy lip-lock with Vidya Balan in the Vishal Bhardwaj directed movie, Ishqiya.

There were talks that co-actor Vidya Balan refused to kiss Arshad Warsi. “There’s no truth to that. We knew about the scene before we started shooting for the film. We shot the scene, and eight-month later we read that Vidya Balan refused to kiss me. That’s not true at all,” said Arshad Warsi.

Being the loyal husband that he is, Arshad Warsi sought permission from Maria Goretti before he locked lips with Vidya Balan. “Before we did that scene, I asked Maria if she was ok with it. She wasn’t comfortable with it. But then I had to convince her. I’ve never done a scene like that in my life. And I don’t think I’d kiss on-screen in the future,” he added.

“This is my first and most probably my last on-screen kiss. The kiss has its importance, it was required in the film. It’s not like other glamorous films where for the sake of hype you make actors kiss,” he clarified. About his personal life, Arshad Warsi shares, “I remember Jaya Bachchan told Maria before our marriage that to be a wife is one thing but to be an actor’s wife is really tough. I think I am a pretty good husband. As of now, I have only two wives Maria and my work.”
