Maoists’s arms dump seized in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, January 04: Police on Tuesday unearthed an arms dump of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh and recovered a large quantity of explosives, a senior police officer said.

Based on the information provided by some villagers the police carried out searches in a forest area under Mailapadu mandal in the early hours of morning and recovered 40 grenades, 8 mines and other materials used for making landmines, Srikakulam District Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain told PTI.

Further investigation is underway, he said.
