Maoists set on fire campaign vehicles of two candidates

Gaya, November 11: Maoists today set on fire campaign vehicles of two candidates in Bihar’s Gaya district, a senior police official said.

About ten ultras intercepted the campaign vehicle of Guruwa Assembly constituency’s Independent candidate Rajendra Singh’s, in a place between Vishunpur and Dhanauti village, and poured kerosene on it before setting it on fire, Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha said.

The rebels, however, left six supporters of Singh unharmed by allowing them to get out of the vehicle before setting it ablaze, he said.

In a similar incident, another group of Maoists set afire the campaign vehicle of Anil Kumar, a JD(U) candidate from Tekari Assembly seat, in Laxman Bigha village under Konch police station area after asking his supporters to get out of the vehicle, the SSP said.
