Bhubaneswar, July 10: Maoists blew up a forest office in Orissa’s Gajapti district today injuring three persons during a state-wide bandh to protest the ban on them.
Armed extremists, including women, stormed the forest office at Paniganda in the district, about 300 km from here early this morning. They dragged out and tied up the guard, Inspector in-Charge of Adaba police station N Kero said.
The building was then blown up with powerful explosives, he said.
Three villagers were injured by splinters from the blast and were admitted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital in Berhampur where the condition of two persons was stated to be critical.
The attack took place during a bandh called by the ultras to protest against the ban on them and alleged police excesses.
