Visakhapatnam (AP), January 09: Maoist dumps have been unearthed in Koyyuru and Kannavaram in the district and ingredients of explosives besides material for making weapons have been recovered, a senior police officer said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party carried out combing operation in Kannavaram forest area yesterday and recovered pipes, iron rods for making single barrel guns and other material used for making weapons besides a gas-cutter, Narsipatnam DSP N Narasimha Kishore told PTI.
The police seized three night-vision devices, one INSAS and one .303 rifle and material used for making explosives following an encounter with the ultras near Cheruvuru mandal last month, the police officer said.
