Many party workers joining yatra despite restrictions: Jagan

Rajahmundry, July 18: Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on his ‘Odarupu yatra’ on Saturday said that many party workers including MLAs and MLCs have joined him on the yatra despite the Congress High Command imposing restrictions on them.

Reddys sixth day of the Yatra started in East Godavari district of the state today from Lalchervu with a large number of party workers greeting him.

State Social Welfare Minister P Subash Chandra Bose, MLCs, K Durgesh, P Padmavathi and others participated in the Yatra.

Police had made elaborate arrangements in the district particularly in Rajahmundry and surrounding areas.

Thanking the people for supporting him he said, “even though the party high command imposed some restrictions on MLAs, MLCs and party workers on joining the ongoing Yatra, they participated in the yatra and made it a success. I am thankful to them”.

Talking about the purpose of the yatra, he said it was his duty to console the family members who lost their lives after the sudden demise of his father, former chief minister Rajasekhara Reddy, as they could not bear the news of the death.

“In case of death, we would go to meet the family members of the person died to console them. I am doing exactly the same”, he added.
