Prof. Mohammad Miyan, Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, has today appointed Prof. S. M. Rahmatullah as Dean School of Arts and Sciences for a period of three years and asked him to continue as in-charge Register, the post he has been holding for the last two years.
Responding to request of Prof. Rahmatullah that he be repatriated to his parent department of Political Science and Public Administration and relieve him of the duties of the Registrar, the Vice Chancellor took the decision. In a letter to the Vice Chancellor the Registrar expressed his gratitude for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Registrar of the University from February 2, 2013. He further said that he was ready to serve University as officiating Registrar if the Vice Chancellor so wished.
In another decision, Prof Mohammad Miyan appointed Prof. Mohammed Zafaruddin, Professor Department of Translation Studies, as the Officer on Special Duty at the Directorate of Distance Education. He also appointed Prof. P. F. Rahman, Dean School of Sciences, as the Chairman, newly created Central Administration Monitoring and Review Committee.
In yet another decision, the Vice Chancellor appointed Prof. Mohd. Shahid of the Department of Social Work as Dean Student Welfare. The Vice Chancellor had earlier appointed Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan, Professor of Mathematics, as the Dean Academics. (INN)
