Maulana Azad National Urdu University the only university offering courses at higher level through Urdu medium, has introduced five new regular courses i.e., Ph. D. Arabic, M. A. in Political Science, P.G. Diploma in Graphic & Animation, Functional Hindi & Translation & a Certificate programme in Arabic. The criteria for admission into PG Diploma in Graphic & Animation is Graduate from any recognized University/institution. Graduate/equivalent degree holder with at least 40% marks in aggregate is eligible for admission into M.A. (Pol. Science). The students of Public Administration or Political Science shall be given preference. All Courses except the language programmes are offered in Urdu Medium.
Tahseen-e-Ghazal or Appreciation of Ghazal certificate course is a very unique course, conceived & designed keeping in view the popularity of Urdu poetry among non-Urdu folks. This course has been extended into a diploma programme on demand of Urdu lovers. This oral programme is being run successfully. University has also started MCA, M.Sc. (Maths), M.Com. & Diploma in Unani Pharmacy last year. All these programmes have received good response.
MANUU, is a central University, established by an act of Parliament & accredited “A” Grade by NAAC. The campus based courses for which admission process has begun, include M. A. (Urdu, Persian, Arabic, English, Hindi, Public Administration, Women’s Studies, Translation Studies, Mass Communication & Journalism, Political Science), Master of Social Work, MBA, MCA, M.Com., M.Sc. (Mathematics), M. Ed., B. Ed., D. Ed., M. Phil. (Urdu, Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi, Public Administration, Women Education, Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Business Management & Translation Studies) and Ph. D. (Urdu, Persian, Arabic, Hindi, English, Women Studies, Public Administration, Education, Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy Studies, Business Management), Polytechnic Programmes (Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, Information Technology), ITI’s (Draughtsman – Civil, Electronics Mechanic, Electrician, Refrigeration and Air – Conditioning and Plumbing), P.G. Diploma (Graphic & Animation, Functional Hindi & Translation, Functional Urdu), Diploma Programmes (Unani Pharmacy, Arabic, Arabic Translation, Tahseen Ghazal, Persian) and Certificate Courses (Khush Khati, Tahseen–e–Ghazal, Arabic). Admissions in M.Ed., B.Ed., D.Ed., MCJ, MBA, M.A. Translation Studies, all M. Phil, Ph.D. and Polytechnic courses will be on the basis of entrance examinations and in all other courses admissions will be on merit basis.
Filled in application forms for M.Ed., B.Ed., and D.Ed., shall be submitted on or before 25th May, 2012 at University Headquarters, Hyderabad. Last date for other courses is 4th June 2012.
The form and prospectus can be downloaded from the University website www.manuu.ac.in. The Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- is necessary with downloaded forms and the courses having entrance test DD of Rs. 300/- should be enclosed. Reservation for SC/ST & OBC candidates will be as per the GOI norms and rules as amended from time to time. Hostel facility would be provided subject to availability.
The University provides fellowship of Rs. 5,000/- & Rs. 3,000/- per month to the students of Ph. D. and M. Phil. respectively as per UGC Norms.
