Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University, in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi, is organizing a National Seminar on Dagh Dehlavi, one of the most popular poets in Urdu. The Seminar, “Nawab Mirza Khan Dagh Dehlavi: Age, Life, Thought & Art” will be held from 21st to 23rd September at DDE Auditorium.
According to Prof. Abul Kalam, Director Seminar, Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, will preside over the session and Prof. Shameem Hanfi, eminent scholar will deliver the keynote address. Padmashree Mujtaba Husain, noted satirist and humorist will be the Chief Guest. Dr. Syed Taqi Abedi, a critic from Canada, and Prof. Mohd. Naseemuddin Farees, Dean, School of Languages, Linguistics and Indology MANUU, are the Guests of Honour.
Cultural Programme based on the life of Dagh Dehlavi will also be organized during the seminar. Ateeq Hussain Banda Nawazi and his team will present “Qawwali” on September 21 at 8.30 pm. Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Registrar will be the Chief Guest.
Padmashree Jeelani Bano will be the Chief Guest of the programme, Sham-e-Afsana (Evening of Fiction), which will be held on September 22, 8.30 pm. Prof. Baig Ehsas will preside over the function.
Mushaira, “Ek Shaam Daag ke Naam”, will be organized on September 23 at 8.30 pm. Eminent poet Janab Rahman Jami will be the Chief Guest. Dr. Syed Taqi Abedi will preside over the event.
