Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has signed an MoU with NALSAR University of Law today. MANUU’s Instructional Media Centre (IMC) is providing technical support to NALSAR to produce Audio-Visual content for the MOOC Programme of NALSAR University’s MHRD Project.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU and Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor, NALSAR University of Law in the presence of Prof. Rahmatullah, Registrar In-charge, MANUU and Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, registrar NALSAR University of Law.
Prof. Faizan Mustafa, speaking after signing the MoU first time NALSAR is signing an MoU with multi-faculty Indian institution like MANUU. Almost 3000 law teachers have registered for the course on swayam which we are producing and in this whole process IMC- MANUU has done a tremendous job by producing it in record time as most of the production work has already done.
He also expressed the need to create legal awareness among the masses. Manuu may produce legal education videos in Urdu, he suggested.
Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz described the MoU as a new beginning for MANUU and congratulated team IMC. He expressed confidence that this step would further the momentum.
Dr. Parvaiz praised IMC and assured that University will also produce legal awareness programmes under the MANUU Knowledge series.
Adding that he told satisfaction over the fact that Urdu University has entered into MOOC Programme production, thanks to the state of the art production facility available at IMC and its dedicated staff.
According to the MoU, signed initially for three years, assigned Law faculty will record the course in Instructional Media Centre and entire audiovisual content will be produced in collaboration with IMC MANUU.
Collaboration between the two institutions will help NALSAR University of Law to produce MOOC Course for Law teachers.
As part of the Annual Refreshing Programme In Teaching (ARPIT) 2019, NALSAR University of Law has been identified as National Resource Centre (NRC) by MHRD to produce MOOC programme through SWAYAM Website for the Law teachers across the country. 3000 law teachers have already registered for the course.
Interestingly, most of the video lessons are already recorded and available on SWAYAM platform.
Registrar Manuu Prof. S. M. Rahmatullah described the MoU as a new beginning for IMC. This e-content will be surely beneficiary for law teachers and general students also.
Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Registrar, NALSAR also addressed.
Earlier, Mr. Rizwan Ahamd, Director IMC, briefed about the MoU and thanked the authorities for supporting the media centre. He further said that IMC has good infrastructure for audiovisual production with highly experienced & professionals and hopeful that in future we will have more such projects.
