MANUU Model School creates history

Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s Model School at Falaknuma (old city of Hyderabad) has created a history of sorts by becoming the first school in south India which has successfully passed out the 10th Class batch under CBSE mode.

Model School established by the University in 2008-09 in the educationally & economically backward area of Fatima Nagar (Falaknuma) has proved the odds wrong by this unique achievement.

According to Dr. Kafil Ahmed, Principal Model School, in an area marred by School drop outs, 18 students (which include 15 girls) appeared for All India Secondary School Examination, held in March 2012. All of them passed out with flying colours. 5 Students got distinction, 11 passed in First Division and 2 in Second Division. Incidentally this is the first 10th Standard Urdu Medium batch in South India. Most of the students of the school are from economically backward sections. Their unprecedented success is attributed to the hard work and dedication of the school staff. The result is being regarded as a good sign for future of Urdu Medium Education.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University is running three Model Schools in the country on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Beside Hyderabad the other two model schools are at Darbhanga (Bihar) and Nuh (Haryana). Darbhanga Model School has successfully passed out two 10th Standard batches since last year (This result is also 100%). Hyderabad Model School is all set to start 11th Standard this year. 5 Toppers of the batch include Syeda Humaira (85.54%), Asma Begum (78.26%), Syed Masih (76.44%), Asma Begum (76.44%), Ishrat Begum (74.62%).

Admission process in the school is going on. Further information can be had on telephone nos. 040-24473770 and 9490463263.
