Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Centre for Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy in collaboration with ICSSR will organise a three-day International Conference on “Status of Muslim Women in Indian Sub-Continent” from March 6.
The inaugural programme will be held on March 6 at 10:30 AM at Library Auditorium in the MANUU Campus at Gachibowli. Uzma Naheed, Member, Personal Law Board & Director, Iqra International Foundation will be the Chief Guest, Prof. Zoya Hasan, Dean, School of Social Sciences, JNU (Delhi) will deliver the Keynote Address. Ms. Shamina Shafiq, Member, National Commission for Women will be the Guests of Honour. The event will be presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Miyan.
The Valedictory Session, to be held on March 8 at 4:00 PM, will be attended by Union Minister for Minority Affairs K Rahman Khanwhile Civil Rights Activist Teesta Setalvad will be the chief guest. Prof Shahnaz Nabi, Head, Dept. of Urdu, University of Calcutta, Kolkata, Prof. Nazmunnisa Mahtab, Head, Dept. of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh will be the Guest Speaker. S M Ahmedullah, Minister of Minorities, Govt. of AP will also be attend in the programme.
Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, Director CSSEIP and Dr. Farida Siddiqui, Convenor of the Conference requested the interested people to attend the conference. (INN)
