MANUU celebrates Foundation Day

Hyderabad, January 19: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), celebrated its 14th Foundation Day Function today with a nostalgic lecture by its founder Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Shamim Jairajpuri & an inspiring address by Mr. P.A. Inamdar, well known academic administrator & philanthropist from Pune. Prof. Mohd. Miyan Vice-Chancellor, presided over the function held at DDE auditorium.

Prof. Shamim Jairajpuri, internationally acclaimed Zoologist, delivered a lecture on “woh din, woh log aur woh batein” (Those Days, Those People & Those Talks), recalling the earlier & memorable days of this nascent University.

MANUU, was established on 9th January 1998 by an Act of Parliament. Mr. Inamdar advised the students to be optimistic & work hard for bright future. He said a golden era for Indian Muslims is about to begin, thanks to the vibrant democratic system here. Mr. Inamdar described MANUU as a gift to the Urdu lovers. Prof. Mohd. Miyan in his presidential address announced institution of an annual award from MANUU next year onwards. This will be bestowed upon any personality, rendering outstanding services for the promotion of Urdu language.

Mr. Inamdar later addressed the students of Business Management & advised them to be an expert of their field. Without hard work and honesty nothing extra ordinary could be achieved, he remarked. He also opined that Indian students should learn the traits of micro planning, research & innovation from the West.
