Gurugram (Haryana): A body of an unidentified man with his face completely crushed was found at Sheetala Mata Road here in the early hours of Thursday, police said.
The Gurugram Police Control Room received a call on Thursday morning which said that the body of a man, around 40 years of age, was spotted from outside a shop in sector 5.
The police is trying to identify the body as the face has been damaged beyond recognition.
According to the police, shopkeepers informed them about the body lying outside a tiles store.
The deceased was covered with a blanket and was lying in a pool of blood.
Following the call, the Gurugram police and a forensic science team reached the spot. Preliminary investigation reveals that the face of the man, his was intentionally crushed by using a brick or stones to make him unidentifiable, police said.
When the police asked the shop owner outside whose shop the body was spotted, he said that the deceased had been sleeping outside his shop at night for the last two years and by morning he used to leave.
The shop owner also claimed that he does not have much information about the deceased. He said he got a call from the shop owners in the vicinity after which he rushed and informed the police about the body.
The Gurugram police has sent the body for post-mortem and effort to indentify the deceased are underway.
