Mandatory rules by CBSE for NEET candidates! Read to know them

New Delhi: Now NEET applicants appearing for their Entrance are directed to wear “light-coloured halfsleeves dress” and “not to wear shoes” by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

A dress code is being implemented this year after the Board made its announcement last year. Those who chose to wear their ‘customary dress’ are directed to report at the exam centre one hour prior to the commencement of their exam, TOI reported.

Last year, the Board faced huge criticism after students protested against the board after it forced it’s Muslim applicants to remove their headscarves in order to attend the exam.

According to released dress code, the candidates are permitted to wear “light clothes with half sleeves, not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc. with salwar/ trouser,” and “slippers, sandals with low heels and not the shoes and also told it shall not provide any arrangements at the exam centre to look for their belongings.

It has barred the candidate from carrying any electronic devices to the exam centre. The NEET exam is scheduled on May 6, from 10am to 1pm. “The schedule will remain unaltered even if the date of the test is declared a public holiday,” CBSE said in a statement.
