In his over enthusiasm over winning the English Premier League title, Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez held up a placard reading ‘RIP Fergie’ during the trophy parade.
City later issued a statement in which it apologized to Manchester United’s manager Alex Ferguson saying Tevez has made a ‘significant error of judgment’.
“The creation of the tasteless material is in itself reprehensible and in accepting and brandishing it, Carlos has made a significant error of judgment,” the club said in a statement.
“The club wishes to express its sincerest apologies to Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United Football Club for any offense or distress caused.”
