Job Description
Job Purpose:
Installs, configures, supports, and troubleshoots computer networks by performing the following duties.
Duties:
Network design and architecture
Responsible for TCP/IP routing, i.e. routers, switches, Internet load balancer
Responsible for firewall and IPS
Responsible for network security, including website security, web application firewalls, SSL certificates, log management
Evaluate, test, and install new network hardware, software, and services
Installation, configuration, management and support of network hardware and software including MS Windows Servers, MS IIS
Servers, MS Exchange Servers, anti-virus systems, virtual servers, SANs, remote access systems (VPN), wireless access systems, etc.
Supports MS network including MS Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers and Enterprise Servers, MS Active Directory
Establish backup policies and procedures
Establish, monitor, and maintain network security policies and procedures
Monitors and maintains network availability
Proactively Communicates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users
Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and data communications services
Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations, routing, and structured cabling layouts
Establishes and maintains network user accounts, permissions, etc.
Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various
Other duties may be assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a Bachelors degree in a computer network related field; (B.E/B.Tech ECE, IT, or CSE or MCA or equivalent)
Certifications like CCNA/CCNP are desirable
Strong TCP/IP routing skills, i.e. routers, switches, Internet load balancers and network monitoring systems
Strong knowledge on routing protocols and VPN implementations
Working Knowledge on Network Monitoring Systems and IPSLAs, NETFLOWS
Knowledge on application performance monitors and network analyzers.
Strong network security experience, including website security, web application firewalls, SSL certificates, log management
Strong firewall and IPS experience
Applicable network certifications a plus
Must have organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work as part of a team
Must have excellent communication skills
