Late night on Saturday, a man in an inebriated state, attacked a person who tried to settle his squabble with a woman in Chilkanagar, Uppal.
According to police, Subbaraju had pledged a cooker with Sugunamma, a flower vendor at the market yard, and borrowed Rs.300. A drunken Subbaraju demanded the cooker back; instead of clearing the loan and Sugunamma beg to be excused.
As per Uppal Inspector Laxml Kantha Reddy, when they were at loggerheads, Ranjith, 26year-old, a painter by profession, tried to get involved. Subbaraju picked up a blade that was laying nearby and attacked Ranjith on the neck.
Ranjith was taken to hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. Police arrested Subbaraju on Sunday.
