New Delhi: A man who was in a live-in relationship with a married woman was abducted by her husband and accomplices from northwest Delhi’s Bhalswa bridge and beaten to death, police said today.
Police has arrested two of the accused on Saturday, identified as Rashid and Imran and are searching for the woman’s husband Babu Khan and his other accomplices, said Milind Mahadeo Dumbere, DCP (Northwest).
On October 7, Amit Kumar approached police saying that his cousin Arun had been missing, he said.
Lalit, Arun’s friend told police, that he had been kidnapped along with Arun on October 4 from Bhalswa Bridge and they were taken to Khan’s house at Ansar Vihar in Loni (UP), the officer said.
Lalit told police that he was called by Arun for helping him in shifting his house since his partner had been forcibly taken away by her husband and there was pressure from the landlord to vacate the house, he said.
Khan and his accomplices forced his daughter to call Arun to Bhalswa Bridge on the pretext of returning money, he said.
When Lalit and Arun were returning after taking the money, they were kidnapped in a car, overpowered and taken to Loni, the officer said.
The victims were brutally beaten with rods and cylinders, he said.
They even made an attempt to stab Lalit in the chest but he sat down and was stabbed in the ribs, said Dumbere.
Arun’s condition deteriorated due to the beatings and he lost consciousness, he said.
On the intervening night of October 4 and 5, Lalit was released but he was threatened of dire consequences if he reported the matter to police, he added.
Arun’s body was dumped by the abductors in bushes near Pushta road in Loni and later his body was handed over to his family after identification, said the officer.
During interrogation, they told police that Khan and his family were facing humiliation owing to his wife’s illicit relationship with Arun. Khan hatched a plan to abduct Arun and then kill him, he added.
